Fast & Furious 7 surprised everyone when it became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time earlier this year, which obviously means an eighth instalment is on its way. And a ninth. And a tenth. The world can't get enough of Dominic Toretto and his multi-cultural gang, who have grown from simple street racers to heist kings in a Mission: Impossible-Ocean's Eleven hybrid.
Fast 8 will be released worldwide on April 14, 2017, but fans are already searching for the latest updates. So here's everything we know so far, with the newest information right at the top...

Vin Diesel revealed to his fans on Facebook that Furious 8 intends to begin a new trilogy of films, that will ultimately end the franchise altogether withFurious 10.
He said: "Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision… they have been like family… I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga."
With Furious 7 concluding Brian O'Conner's story arc and introducing Kurt Russell's Mr Nobody, it's fair to predict that the new trilogy will focus on Dom's team being set new challenges each time.
will be released April 19, 2019 and 10 will follow on April 2, 2021.

Straight Outta Compton's F Gary Gray will direct

After speculation that Vin Diesel himself may step up and direct the eighth instalment, it was revealed in October 2015 that F Gary Gray has signed up to be the top man.
Riding high off the success of his NWA biopic box office smash, the director revealed that he will succeed James Wan. Gray has had action experience before, having helmed The Italian JobA Man Apart and The Negotiator. Plus, the video for OutKast's 'Ms Jackson'.

It's called Fast 8

Just to make things more confusing, Vin Diesel has confirmed that the latest film will be calledFast 8. This follows Furious 7Fast & Furious 6Fast Five and so on. Vin clearly can't stick to a single title for this franchise.
However, the UK will make things a tad easier by calling it Fast & Furious 8.
